Hey I'm gonna be writing/making a movie this summer and I'm writing practice scripts where I find an idea and apply the Hollywood structure on top of it.

This one is not serious (of course) and I have no intentions of turning it into a film, it's just an original (and I think fun) idea I've had, and I'm sharing a synopsis with you

THE YEAR IS 2012. AMERICA IS STILL THE NUMBER #1 WORLD SUPERPOWER. But as close second, THE HYBRID DOLPHIN-CUTTLEFISH SUPRA-INTELLIGENT SPECIES.

The glaciers are melting, the Earth is flooding, and people are dying. To save the world, American scientists have an idea and elaborate a risky process that could either save all humans or destroy the Earth completely. But during such hard times, risk is something that must be taken.

That process is to dig to the Earth's core, extract it and transplant it on Mars, where everyone will be moved and the life environment be recreated. HOWEVER, the dolphins discover that if the plan is put to action, Earth will crumble into nothingness of space and all species left on Earth will die. IT WOULD BE POSSIBLE for the humans to extract just a certain part of the Earth's core and transplant it into Mars, which would re-create life on Mars as expected AND save all current living species on Earth. HOWEVER, the risk margin would only be bigger. DURING THIS CRISIS, will the americans try to save themselves only, or will they show compassion for other species and accept to risk furthermore their own lives in order to save the living non-human beings?

(Meanwhile, an inter-species love story develops between the american protagonist and the dolphin president's daughter)

WILL THE HUMAN RACE BE SAVED? WILL EARTH'S SPECIES BE SPARED? WILL THE IMPOSSIBLE LOVE STORY WORK?

It would have to have UN meetings with nothing but American flags.
Also the Dolphins I'm guessing will be speaking English.

If we're talking about the end of the world and dolphins, I'd rather see "So Long, and Thanks For All the Fish" made into a movie. I'd rather just read the book again, to be honest.

For a more gritty and action packed feel the dolphins can learn to walk on land and fight with chainsaws used as legs.

Yeah of course there could be a misunderstanding or such between the President of the USA and the Dolphin President leading to a huge fight/war scene.

Actually, no. The only reason you think it is retarded is because of the dolphins. If you make an abstraction an elevate your mind above the simple fact that they are animals, and rather see the story as two groups opposing each other, both wishing for the best of their own kind and one of the two groups having more power over the other, thus being able to potentially achieve their plan greedily by ignoring/destroying the other group, then no it's not retarded. It's sci-fi.
